As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Mechanical Engineering Manager in our Refrigeration Products business located in Anaheim, CA.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Engineering Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for all engineering aspects related to the transition of new product development to production. This will include responsibility for product recurring and non-recurring costs, schedule milestones, product reliability, product certification, warranty avoidance and people management.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Transition of new product development to production.

  • Work with our international customer base to fully and completely define all product options in accordance with internal and external requirements and design time lines.

  • Accurately track product costs and weight while actively managing to reduce both.

  • Closely monitor and deliver all data requirements to commercial aircraft OEM's (e.g. Boeing, Airbus) and other commercial aircraft interior integration partners.

  • Develop and manage program milestones to ensure design, certification, and test lab deliverables are met.

  • Ensure engineering labor costs meet internal targets.

  • Work closely with design team to track and document program scope changes.

  • Responsible for bill of material development status.

  • Lead and manage an engineering team.

  • Complete other duties and assigned projects as required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university.

  • Eight (8) years of related experience.

  • Four (4) years of supervisory experience.

  • Strong people management skills to drive immediate and extended team to on-time completion of tasks.

  • Prior hands-on experience working with Electro-mechanical and Hydro-mechanical products in the Aerospace industry.

  • Experience of new product introduction and product development.

  • Excellent communication skills: directly interface with both internal department and external suppliers and customers

  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Aerospace experience highly preferred.

  • Direct experience with motors and valves.

  • Lean and Kaizen experience desirable.

  • Knowledge of experimental design, data analysis, and design control

  • Ability to directly interface with both internal department personnel and external suppliers and customers.

  • Ability to interact with high levels of internal and external management.

  • Able to provide direction and support to multiple levels of team members.

  • Able to provide leadership to the team.

  • Able to make clear and concise customer presentations.
