Rockwell Collins is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer with background in Telecommunications engineering. The candidate will be supporting and deploying IP, voice and radio networks for high availability Aircraft Communications. The candidate should be comfortable working both independently and as a key role in a team supporting voice services. This role would be part of the RF engineering group at Rockwell Collins Information Management systems in Annapolis, MD.
Provide high-level engineering support for existing VHF radio services
Relocation and deployment of HF and VHF radio networks in remote sites around CONUS and the world
Leads and contributes to small to medium size engineering development efforts
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or related Engineering, Physics
Strong communication skills –acting as an interface point for high-level service outages
Possess 3 or more years’ experience working in a telecommunications related industry
Experience operating electronic/RF/telco test equipment
Ability to travel domestic and internationally (<25%, with infrequent extended trips)
Experience with Cisco routers and IP Networks
Knowledge of VOIP/SIP, PRI, T1 telecommunications standards
Experience with Radio Networks
Preference is for a candidate with exposure and interest in project leadership
