We are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join the Common Platform Hardware team within the Government Systems Airborne Products and Systems Department. Recently, this team completed development of a video graphics system, a video processing computer that provides 3-D video processing of aerial refueling operations, a tactical situational awareness system, and a ruggedized computing platform that provides pilots with real time situational awareness for the Next Generation Tanker. Legacy products developed by the department include integrated processing cabinets, control display units, control panels, next generation processors and data transfer units that are used on multiple military platforms.
This position will include investigation and development of new technologies to be used in military airborne platforms, both fixed and rotary wing. Primary assignments will be circuit board designs that require the use and application of electrical engineering principles and techniques, with opportunities for FPGA design and verification. The selected candidate will be required to design, develop, document, verify, qualify, troubleshoot, and transition electronic hardware of simple to high complexity for military airborne platforms. The selected candidate will work closely with Systems, Software, Mechanical Engineers, Environmental Effects Engineering, Manufacturing/Operations and Design to Cost support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of a product’s lifecycle. Bachelor’s degree in applicable engineering or science field.
Must possess or be eligible for a US DOD Secret clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
Experience in an electrical engineering design or support role
Domain knowledge of digital electronics and experience with digital electronics design principles and techniques
Experience with design tools for circuit board design, schematic capture, and signal integrity analysis
Experience with requirements capture and component selection for high speed digital products.
Experience troubleshooting digital designs in a lab environment using Oscilloscopes, Analyzers, Function Generators, etc.
