Job Summary

As a Materials & Process Engineer, you will work as a member of the Component & Material Evaluation Laboratory functioning as a local expert in the fields of organic materials and chemistry. This position is very hands on and will include sample preparation and testing of organic materials in support of qualification, failure analysis, production support, process improvements, special projects and engineering development.

Job Responsibilities

The Materials & Process Engineer will also perform screening and characterization of a variety of materials including residues, thermoplastic and thermosetting materials, adhesives, tapes, etc. Testing may include peel, adhesion and cure kinetics.

Selected candidate will be able to react quickly to changing requirements and developments. This position requires collaborative problem solving with technicians and engineers, a logical troubleshooting aptitude and the ability to work well independently and as a member of a high performance team. Effective communication with customers, both written and verbal is also required.

Basic Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience operating and interpreting results from FTIR and thermal analysis equipment (TMA, TGA, DSC and DMA), and a baseline knowledge of various analytical techniques (SEC, GCMS, AFM, XRF, XRD, etc.). Strong analytical techniques, mechanical testing of materials and the ability to work with delicate parts is desired. Responsibilities will also include documentation, equipment calibration and up keep.

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline. US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Requires the ability to lift 45lbs.

Material & Process Engineer, Analytical Chemist, Chemical Engineer degrees acceptable
