Job Summary

Our team is looking for innovative, determined and passionate engineering leaders to quickly solve complex problems to support military airborne communications products in the multiple Data Link markets.

We’re looking for a highly motivated candidate to be a Mechanical Engineering Co-op within the Government Systems (GS) Microelectronics Packaging Group. This group is responsible for the Microelectronics Packaging technology activities and Advanced Interconnect Durability throughout Rockwell Collins.

This position is for a Mechanical Engineering Co-op involved in the design and development of microelectronics packaging products and high reliability advanced inter-connect technologies. Responsibilities for this position will require involvement in a wide variety of microelectronics packaging and printed circuit assembly technologies, including: Packaging conceptualization, advanced interconnect testing, technology developments, preliminary / detailed design, prototype build & evaluation, qualification testing, data analysis, documentation, factory transition, and manufacturing support. Qualifications

  • College co-op opportunities at Rockwell Collins are available to students who have received a high school diploma or equivalent and are pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable Materials Science, Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering discipline.

  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

The successful candidate must have good written and verbal skill, have a willingness to learn and expand their technology base, and work well within a diverse team environment. Candidates should be of good standing in one of the following engineering fields: Mechanical, Materials, Chemical or Industrial.

Experience / knowledge in the following technical areas are desired:

  • Microelectronics design and manufacturing assembly

  • Electronic component reliability testing

  • Failure analysis techniques

  • Statistical data analysis

  • Silicon wafer fabrication processes

Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MS Office products and working knowledge of mechanical 3D CAD and analysis tools such as ANSYS is a plus.
