Job Summary

The Mission Systems Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Hardware Engineering design team is looking for a Senior RF Design Engineer with experience in RF component design. This team ensures alignment of our products and programs with our key customer market segments while maximizing company and customer funding efficiencies through a product line approach. This position will be responsible for PNT RF hardware architectures and RF component roadmaps for all PNT products.

This team is focused on the development of new M-code based hardware products as well as maintaining SAASM based hardware and Radio Navigation products. This development is done for the full life cycle of the product (requirements/design through factory transition and sustainment) and will also utilize the new product introduction processes. Additionally, the development will utilize a hardware product line approach to achieve optimal component and circuit card reuse across all hardware products.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership for RF hardware architecture and trade study development of high PNT applications.

  • Led development activities on new RF components for PNT products

  • Contribute to engineering program pursuits and bid estimates

  • Contribute to hardware engineering requirements capture and analysis in area of domain expertise.

  • Design, test, analyze, integrate, qualify and document hardware of moderate to high complexity.

  • Work closely with other engineering disciplines (ie mechanical, software and systems engineering) to ensure the electrical design is appropriate for the project/product design approach.

  • Participate in cross-functional team efforts in integration, pre-qualification and qualification for products and sub-systems of moderate to high complexity.

  • Conduct root-cause-analysis and technical investigations for software/hardware designs.

  • Work with mechanical engineers to ensure proper packaging of systems.

  • Provide engineering assistance to production, service, and repair personnel.

  • Possess excellent communication skills, including the ability to write technical material and present to customers and mid-level managers.

  • Able to work and communicate with representatives from various departments including Business Development, Finance, and Operations

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • US Citizenship

  • Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

  • Experience in some or all aspects of RF hardware development life cycle including requirements capture and verification, design and development, sub-level and system level integration and testing.

  • Circuit board and RF component design experience including experience with schematic capture tools and PCB layout supervision and guidance to board designers.

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

  • Be capable of hands-on troubleshooting using engineering lab equipment.

  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner and produce detailed, clear and concise technical documentation.

  • Working knowledge of EM/circuit simulation tools like Keysight ADS and or AWR Microwave Office

  • Be self-directed, able to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight.

  • Familiar with passive and active antenna testing and analysis.

  • Experience with military aerospace testing standards.
