Rockwell Collins is currently seeking qualified candidates for experienced engineers in our Government Systems Flight Management Applications department. Located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, this position's primary responsibility is to develop system requirements, product software, test cases, and test software for a variety of rotary wing platforms.
This specifically role is for Flight Director, an application that is responsible for providing steering cues to the flight display systems. These cues are used to assist the pilot in capturing and tracking a desired flight path.
This individual must have design and development experience in system and software engineering. Demonstrated success in a team environment is critical as this individual would be working an an AGILE development environment with other engineers in cross functional teams.
Hands-on experience with avionics and flight deck controls is preferred.
Defense or Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
Certification experience with avionics, specifically DO-178B/C and ARP4754A is also preferred.

Experience with systems and software tools (DOORS, Python, ADA, C, Matlab, JAMA)
Experience interacting with domestic and international partners
Time management skills - ability to work unsupervised, multi-task, and coordinate work
Basics of risk management (identify, quantify, and mitigate risks)
Effective communication (written, verbal, and interpersonal)
Perform cost/benefit analysis
Familiarity with the AGILE development process
Familiarity with Flight Controls, Flight Management Applications, and Flight Management Products
Familiarly with aerospace and avionics
Willingness to travel (domestic and international <10%)
Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline
Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (US Citizenship required)
