Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated systems engineer to join the strategic program systems team. This role will support a Fusion based program as it builds new functionality into an existing baseline and will perform systems engineering responsibilities from defining requirements and design to meet new customer needs to developing and executing systems level test cases and procedures. If selected for this role you will have the opportunity to work close with other experienced systems engineers and take on more ownership and lead responsibilities in the program. This role will maintain interaction with internal stakeholders, customers, program managers, and a geographically distributed engineering team. We are looking for a self-starter that will be willing to dive in and take ownership of their work and understanding the larger solution we are making for this customer. Having a proven track record of being able to start something new and excel quickly will be sought after. The position requires experienced engineers whom have demonstrated an ability to execute on moderate and large avionics developments.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working with the systems architect and leads to understand what design changes and additions are needed to meet the customer’s needs and being able to decompose that into systems artifacts include requirements, designs, and test cases & procedures. A successful candidate will also need to learn the test environment to be able to integrate the solution and execute system test to ensure the solution meets the customer requirements. Opportunities to work on new changes as a lead on the work will be available based on the candidates ability to become integrated into the team and understand the system.

The candidate will work in an Agile development environment and will benefit from previous experience in Agile development. Mentoring and training will be available for the candidate once they start to cover more details about the program and how this program is being executed. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for adhering to, and supporting Rockwell Collins process methodologies while developing and managing commitments to meet project financial and schedule deliverables and quality requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates MUST have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline,

  • At least 5 years of System, Software, or Hardware engineering experience

  • US DoD security clearance, or ability to obtain (US Citizenship is required)

  • Experience executing on an avionics program and meeting either civil or MIL standards in developing product.

  • Experience with Avionic Systems, preferred knowledge of Rockwell Collins avionics architectures (Fusion, Flight 2 or CAAS).

  • Strong leadership skills as demonstrated with interpersonal interaction, individual mentoring to develop the team composition, and training.

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment.

  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks, while balancing priorities and schedules are important attributes.

  • Self-starter and have strong analytical skills.
