Job Summary

Rockwell Collins is looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Advanced Avionics Hardware Team. This position works across all phases of product development from pursuit captures to production transition for various hardware product lines for the Air Transport and Business and Regional Customers. The ideal candidate will be part of a cross functional team to define, plan, design, build, test, certify and support advanced hardware solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Requirements capture and review, and verification.

  • Bid creation and support RFIs and RFPs.

  • Coordination with application engineers and suppliers to determine root-cause and corrective actions of component failures.

  • Analog and digital schematic design and oversight of circuit card layouts, and optimization for production efficiency.

  • Collaborating with manufacturing test engineers to develop production test software and hardware solutions.

  • Oversight of DO-160 EMI and Environmental testing.

  • Creation and oversight of DO-254 certification artifacts for Airborne Electronic Hardware.

  • Exploration of new technologies to meet future needs of the corporation.

  • Updating electrical designs for parts obsolescence and new technology insertion.

  • Engineering analysis of basic to complex electrical designs.

  • Prior hardware design engineering experience with Avionics products and understanding of manufacturing processes and product life cycle support is desired.

  • Project management and team leadership experience is also desired.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • Electrical Engineering degree preferred.

  • Development experience in analog and digital circuit design and troubleshooting, including work with embedded microprocessors.

  • Experience with hardware circuit simulation and analysis tools is required.

  • Demonstrated problem-solving using data-driven decision-making

  • Be self-directed, able to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives with minimal oversight

  • Have excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and work well within a design team environment
