Job Summary

Do you have a passion for aviation electronics and a desire to participate in the future of avionics for the Commercial Air Transport segment? We are looking for a highly motivated, self-starter with this type of interest to help guide the Large Displays System (LDS) Aftermarket pursuits for projects ranging from commercial airlines to freighters and tankers. This position will allow for opportunity to participate in the full software development life cycle, including but not limited to the following activities.

In addition to the new features and functional upgrades to sustain aircraft through new FAA mandates and aircraft operation cost targets, LDS has the unique challenge of integrating single product line solutions with countless configurations of existing revenue generating aircraft. LDS is tightknit team operating in an Agile format. Specifically, modeled after the Scrumban implementation. All engineers are expected to be well rounded within their disciplines.

Job Responsibilities

  • Requirements capture from customers, FAA as well as aircraft and domain systems engineers.

  • Development, review, and coordination of requirements

  • Participation in SW architecture definition and technology evaluations

  • Technical alignment of development & verification activities

  • Certification activities and participation in FAA DO-178B Stages of Involvement audits.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with various teams

  • Strong team building and ability to analyze information and complex issues using logic and reasoning.

  • Ability to identify complex problems, and develop and evaluate options and solutions.

  • Ability to be a self-starter and motivated to take on challenging work and milestones.

Must Have Requirements

  • 2-3 years experience in Displays Software development

  • 2-3 years of development with Software Model Based Development of displays application software with the use of ARINC 661 (preferably utilizing the Rockwell Collins ADAPT framework).

  • Familiarity with development processes for safety critical software, i.e., DO-178B Level A, B, C, and D

  • C/C++ software development experience

  • Ability to work well in a team environment, excellent interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities
