We are currently searching for a Sr Software Engineer - Pro Line Fusion to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A comprehensive relocation package is available for qualified candidates.

Job Summary

We are currently searching for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Formats and Human Factors team within the Business and Regional Systems business unit. Tasks include graphical updates to the Pro Line Fusion® avionics system in the form of software implementation and integration, requirements capture, and verification for display application products. Compliance with internal Avionics development standards and processes will be required. Additional tasks could include change management, bidding, project planning for multiple internal customers, and internal resource management.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing and testing embedded software in avionics products

  • Collaborating on software requirements and design

  • Implementing and testing software

  • Helping to solve complex software and systems problems

  • Guiding fellow software engineers with problem solving and work planning

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline

  • Experience with object-oriented analysis, design, and development

  • Excellent communications skills to communicate technical issues and status in both written and oral form

  • Excel working in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers

  • Be familiar with standard software development practices and willing to adapt them to Collins Aerospace software development processes.

  • Consistently produce superior results, keeping projects on schedule and contributing to a positive work environment

Preferred, but not required, experience/skills with any of the following:

  • DO-178B/C software development experience

  • FAA Part 25 certification or similar

  • Agile development processes

  • Presagis VAPS XT® or other human machine interaction experience

  • Scripting languages such as Python or Perl

  • Change Management processes and tools

  • ARINC 661 familiarity

  • Object-oriented analysis, design, and development (e.g., in C++, Java, etc.)
