Rockwell Collins (NYSE: COL) is a pioneer in the development and deployment of innovative communication solutions for government applications. The T&TI Engineering Department develops state-of-the-art test and training range products for cryptographic, datalink, networking, and command and control applications. We specialize in the development of high quality, highly secure training solutions for the U.S. military, laying the foundation for Live Virtual Constructive (LVC) capabilities. T&TI Engineering is responsible for all product line and engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of Air Combat Training systems, maturing products from concept phase through accreditation and factory production.

The T&TI Software Systems Engineering team is looking for a dynamic Software/Systems Coop or Intern to help solve real-world problems within the context of a team environment. Applicants should be pursuing an engineering major and have an interest in at least one of the following areas: systems analysis and requirements, full lifecycle software development, and software integration and troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Requirements decomposition from high-level system requirements through derived software requirements

  • Application of software design and IP networking

  • Performing ad-hoc testing, fault isolation, and root cause analysis

  • Support interaction with multidisciplinary teams

  • Apply classroom learning and life experiences to Rockwell Collins

This position is located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

  • Motivated self-starter with good analytical skills

  • Good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work well with others in a professional team environment

A successful candidate may possess the following:

  • Experience with software or systems development

  • Computer networking

  • Cybersecurity concepts

  • Experience with Agile development methodology

  • Active Security Clearance a plus
