JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to Director, Sales & Marketing, the Sales Administrator will be responsible for providing support to the Sales & Marketing team during the proposal process. This individual will be responsible for data input, analyses and preparation of internal approval documents and customer deliverables. The Sales Administrator will also coordinate the information exchange across multiple functions which establish pricing based on sales and customer specifications.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, maintain and adhere to an internal proposal processes.

  • Lead in guidance of the analytical development of winning bid strategies.

  • Perform financial analysis including forecasts, projections, and historical impact assessments.

  • Participate in meetings with sales representatives, sales leaders, and other functional areas. Set timelines and deadlines based on outcome of meetings.

  • Analyze unique proposal requirements and special provisions to ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies and procedures

  • Participates in proposal preparation by reviewing request for proposal contract terms and risks and developing mitigation strategies for proposal submittals

  • Liaise with Segment Contracts as required as to high risk contract terms and required proposal approvals in compliance with the Delegation of Authority

  • Implements Segment contract and proposal policies and process improvements and understands procedures to manage the risks and liabilities during the bid process

  • Create baseline profitability models for review and consideration.

  • Responsible for collection of cost data and management of proposal development and pricing.

  • Prepare Commercial Proposals and ensure that all other portions of the proposal are complete and ready for customer submittal.

  • Coordinate project management across multiple functions such as Finance, Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Export/Import Compliance.

  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects, as assigned.

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 2 years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Aerospace industry experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Administration

  • Ability to work flexible work schedule as required to meet customer proposal deadlines

  • Ability to work well in a team environment often under time sensitive deadlines to complete proposals

  • Organization skills in managing priorities and managing files

  • Advanced Excel skills to include knowledge in creating charts/graphs reflecting sales performance data

  • Knowledge of financial calculations (i.e. Gross Margin, EBIT, Discounts/Incentives, Commissions)
