The Lavatories & Water/Waste Systems division of Rockwell Collins is the sole source lavatory provider for the Boeing 737 MAX program. As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Marketing & Sales Proposal Specialist in our Lavatories & Water/Waste Systems business located in Everett, WA.
Reporting to the Sales Proposal Manager, the Sales Proposal Specialist will play a key role in further developing B/E ALCI’s sales strategies and in supporting the company’s market expansion. This will include assisting in the coordination of large commercially and technically complex airline and OEM proposals as well as the development of strategic analyses and reporting platforms.
Coordinates and leads the development of technically and commercially complex proposals for airline and OEM customers RFPs in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Proposals include Lavatories, Water/Waste Systems as well as coordination with other Rockwell Collins business units such as Integration services as applicable
Assists in preparing proposal financial calculation spreadsheets as well as pricing and negotiation strategies for executive management’s review and approval
Coordinates and analyzes commercial and technical information, specifications and quotations with various internal stakeholders including Engineering, Operations and Finance for proposal preparation
Works with the Matrix organization to populate the proposal package such as schedules, presentations and various dossiers
Conveys the proposal strategies and works with the Marketing group to dissect and analyze data such as delivery forecast, aircraft order details, competitive information and industry news
Assists in identifying key business opportunities, markets and in generating target customer capture plans
Prepares various graphs, charts, forecasts and PowerPoint presentations in support of sales and strategic planning
Reviews, coordinates and prepares responses to customer inquiries
Generates complex sales tools such as Return on Investment (ROI), compliance checklist and various analysis tool
Prepares and occasionally presents customer presentations and proposals during customer visits and trade shows
Bachelor's degree in business related majors such as Sales/Marketing or Finance and a minimum of 3 years related experience in an aeronautical supplier environment, airline, OEM or equivalent
Must have a good knowledge of large aircraft interiors and/or systems
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to deliver effective presentations to various internal and external audiences such as individual contributors, VPs, vendors and customers
Ability to present complex technical and commercial information in a succinct manner
Expert level skills in MS Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
High stress resilience and ability to multi-task and meet challenging customer deadlines
Previous experience in proposal coordination
Ability to work with fundamental financial and mathematical concepts including fractions, ratios and gross margins
Ability to travel 10% of the time
Large OEM proposal experience
Airline or OEM experience
Knowledge of certification requirements such as FAA and other regulatory agencies
