JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Brazing Supervisor or designate, under minimal supervision, manipulates a wide variety of simple to complex assemblies to assure that pre and post brazed units conform to customer specifications in accordance with blueprints, within established tolerances, and within established production schedules.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all preparatory duties, dip brazes, and cleans for successive processes assemblies of moderate complexity which would normally include, but are not limited to:

  • Assemblies consisting of a moderate to large number of piece parts.

  • Assemblies consisting of moderately complex machined parts

  • Assemblies with parts of unusual shapes or which may have bosses, burrs, and/or tabs.

  • Plans jobs following blueprints and established procedures, assures that assemblies have adequate air passages, may drill holes for air passages, may determine type and amount of braze filler to be applied.

  • Determines problem involving assembling, fixturing, distortions, and/or dimensioning, resolves or coordinates with engineering staff and others to resolve problems.

  • May braze complex assemblies that have been set up by more experienced brazer, may assemble complex assemblies following the set-up and under guidance of more experienced brazers.

  • Rinses, defixtures, cleans, quenches, inspects, may repeat brazing process if voids exist, may grind/deburr, may irridite, and otherwise prepare assemblies for subsequent processing.

  • May be able to perform straightening to parts.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to all safety and environmental regulations and requirements.

  • Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; vibration; and occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; frequently required to walk; and occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School education or equivalent.

  • Up to 1 year of administrative experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be detailed oriented, well organized, self-motivated and must be able to work in a fast paced and changing environment.

  • Must be process oriented and team player.

  • Must be able to read, write and communicate fluently in English.

  • Demonstrate work integrity, professionalism, and sound judgment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in aerospace industry.

  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
