As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Mechanical Inspector in our Brazonics Inc business located in Hampton, NH.

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager the Mechanical Inspector will perform product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs including but not limited to inspection of parts, assemblies, and finished products in a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies and materials.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs non routine visual, mechanical, functional dimensional inspection of a variety of products in the production assembly process through final system assembly

  • Performs inspection tasks involving the use of a wide variety of test instruments and equipment to measure values and record functional operations of components.

  • Determines acceptability, identifies and recommends disposition of defective items in accordance with established procedures.

  • Ensures raw materials, in-process and finished products meet company standards.

  • Maintains work area in clean, safe, operational condition. Reports all malfunctioning equipment in order to speed repairs.

  • Records data from inspections produces reports as appropriate/requested and follows all paperwork procedures.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.

  • Assists Quality Assurance during customer audits as needed.

  • Observes all health and safety regulations in performance of daily responsibilities.

  • Performs other related duties as required or as assigned.

  • May aide in training new hires.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

  • Ability to use typical equipment, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers and the like.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, measuring devices and procedure manuals.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results in a manufacturing environment.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of routers.

  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work individually as well as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of Geometric Tolerancing and strong math skills

  • CMM experience, specifically Zeiss Calypso

  • Knowledge of EPICOR software or MRP software

  • Experience with first article inspections (FAI), in process and final assembly inspections.

  • Use of basic hand tools (micrometers, height gages, calipers)

  • Ability to read blueprints in accordance with ANSI Y14.5M standards
