Job Summary

Directs the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements. Implements production plans and provides feedback around product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet given product objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Holds accountability for meeting given production goals in a timely and accurate manner for a set of product lines.

  • Implements production plans and provides feedback to Director around product introduction, equipment efficiency, materials supply constraints, schedules and staffing requirements to meet given operational objectives and business unit goals.

  • Directs the implementation of activities in production areas to ensure timely, high quality production at the lowest cost consistent with the quality requirements.

  • Provides focus to the production team to execute to quality, schedule and cost expectations for the product lines or family of products.

  • Implements annual operating plan, operating budget and capital budgets. Defines priorities within the framework given to implement the most efficient and effective operating plan for the site. Plans staffing and expenditures around priorities.

  • Serves as a champion for quality improvement, Lean and Six Sigma programs at the site. Accountable for reduction of cost and waste within product lines. Improves productivity by implementing best practices.

  • Responsible for schedules and expenditures for direct and indirect labor. Accomplishes results through subordinate managers and employees by establishing operational objectives, work plans and delegating assignments.

  • Responsible for managing the department and all projects and product lines assigned to the department. Communicates goals and strategies to a large workforce, which may include represented and unrepresented components. Directs management team for a set of product lines or family of products. Identifies and develops leadership within the team. Selects, develops and manages the performance of the management team members.

  • Hosts and interacts with internal customers during site visits and product line meetings.

  • Oversees deployment of environmental, health and safety policies and procedures for the product line. Ensures workplace training and safety plans are fully implemented. Ensures the area complies with OSHA, EPA and other safety and health requirements.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline or in the absence of a degree six years of related experience

US Citizenship or Permanent Residence is required. Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience as well as experience in Aerospace
