B/E Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of Rockwell Collins Inc., is a leading manufacturer of aircraft interior products and we currently have some exciting positions based at our Leighton Buzzard facility, including a Indirect Buyer
The Indirect Buyer is responsible for the purchasing of all indirect equipment, tools, MRO, packaging materials, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of the Structures business and to support site wide. Confer with suppliers and internal user departments to determine factors that affect prices and place orders at the lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet the needs of the user. Negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyses trends, follow up orders placed, expedite and verify delivery as required, resolve payment issues and maintain all necessary records in line with SOX and other internal requirements.
Working within the Structures team to procure goods/services as required against internally approved documentation.
Liaising with other departments in the business to interpret/understand their needs.
Using the MRP system (currently JD Edwards) to place indirect purchase orders as required.
Create and update supplier records in the MRP system to ensure address details are maintained correctly and actioned in a timely manner with adherence to payment term targets.
Manage the acquisition and storage of VMI items against agreed stock levels and at competitive prices.
Approve all stationery orders placed against centrally agreed contracts.
Work closely with the Facilities Dept to ensure competitive prices and minimal commercial risk for site contracts such as Waste Management, Office Cleaning, Pest Control etc.
Purchase LBDT requirements as directed and in line with deadlines advised.
Liaise with Corporate Indirect Purchasing personnel to maximise opportunities to reduce costs where possible on contracts for items such as MRO, Packaging etc.
Liaise with operations to ensure that the correct PPE is available for all employees and visitors.
Act as the Supply Chain representative & work closely with Shipping/Receiving to minimise spend on transportation and carriers.
Discuss with key Stakeholders where capital equipment is required to ensure all commercial aspects of the project are taken into full consideration and risk is minimised.
Maintain records for any Company Credit Card purchases made and report monthly to Finance.
Any other reasonable duties and production support when required.
The Ideal candidate will have the following –
Educated to A Level/HND, or equivalent
Materials Management background MRP, ERP etc
Proven track record of achievement in a relevant position
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint etc) - (proficient in Excel using formulae & VLOOKUP)
Excellent interpersonal skills
Driven, with a will to develop new skills
THe following would be an advantage -
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
CIPS. Post Grad Diploma or equivalent
Materials Management background, JDE preferred
Experience of working in Aerospace
Familiarity and appreciation of the Corporate environment
