Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Commercial Systems Surveillance - Radar Systems group. The ideal candidate will perform assignments requiring the use and application of moderate to advanced software engineering principles and techniques.

Job Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, integrating, and testing embedded software in accordance with a DO-178C based software development life cycle.

  • Capturing, Reviewing, and Maintaining software requirements and design of software applications in support of the Weather Radar Programs.

  • Supporting software verification life cycle activities, including, test procedure reviews, software analysis activities, and supporting software verification documentation.

  • Estimating, tracking, taking ownership, and reporting status relating to technical performance, cost, schedule, and risk for assigned scope of work.

  • Collaborating with cross functional teams on moderate to high complexity software application tasks.

Basic Qualifications

A successful candidate will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.

  • Experience with C/C++ programming language.

  • Experience developing software applications on embedded platform is required following DO-178 (B and/or C) compliant processes.

  • Demonstrate a high level of professional competence and knowledge, and must have knowledge of principles and techniques commonly used in software development.

  • Self-starter, able to multi-task and take advantage of opportunities and events to achieve results that meet or exceed expectations.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with employees at all levels in the organization.

  • Detailed problem solving, data analysis, and decision making skills.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with peers and management.

A successful candidate may possess:

  • Knowledge / experience on Weather Radar systems

  • Experience is desired in FAA certification of avionics equipment, communication, navigation and surveillance radios design and development.

  • PowerPC, TI DSP Assembler/C, Analog Devices SHARC and BlackFin Assembler/C, and/or Freescale ColdFire Assembler/C

  • Green Hills Multi, TI Code Composer Studio, Freescale Code Warrior, and/or Analog Devices Visual DSP+* Real-Time Embedded SW Experience

  • ARINC 429/453/708 (specialized data-communications technology)

  • Subversion, Clearcase, ClearQuest, DOORs, JIRA, JAMA
