The Rockwell Collins team seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to join the CNS (Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance) Communication Department HF radio development team. The HF development team plans to develop, design and certify the next generation, state of the art, HF communication system for the Commercial Air Transport and Business and Regional aircraft markets.
A Sr. Systems Engineer is being sought to join the HF Comm development team to perform systems engineering activities for the development of a next generation HF communication system.
Candidates should have good practical experience in systems development with a multi-discipline team and is preferred to have Systems Architecture and Project Engineering experience.
Review and ensure multi-discipline requirements and design are correctly captured, validated and verified throughout the design process and product lifecycle.
Contribute to the system design process by providing significant input into validating and verifying subsystems, reviewing detail design documentation, participating in internal and customer design reviews and following rigorous Rockwell Collins quality processes and best practices.
Support the analysis and evaluation of lab and flight test data captured during testing and assess the robustness of the system design, providing detailed test reports.
Producing and maintaining test records that meet the exacting Rockwell Collins and regulatory requirements.
Development of functional interface and performance specification to be implemented by Hardware and Software.
Guide systems and integration team in developing test methods and validating and verifying design
Authoring integration and certification test procedures and test reports
Support the design and development of the systems.
Prepare status and technical reports as required
Support the system validation and verification
Generate and participate in formal documentation reviews.
Work within stringent development processes and guidelines.
Adhere to exacting quality, integrity and ethical standards
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
Hardware or systems development experience with a multi-discipline team.
Requirements capture, flow-down, validation and verification
Standard Lab equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, Power Supplies.
Qual Test development
Experience with any of the following is a plus but not specifically required:
Program scheduling, earned value and metrics reporting
RTCA MOPS and DO-160 ENV/EME Qualification testing
DO-254, DO-178C, ARP4754A product and process development standards
System certification experience (TSO, PMA, TC, or STC)
Airbus Directives (ABDs)
ALM suite of tools (JAMA, JIRA, Confluence, Bamboo, etc.)
Architecture development with tools like EA or similar tool
Model Based Develoment experience
Familiar with Test development using Labview and TestStand software
The candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
