The position is focused on the design, development, and testing of a distributed Tactical Data Link System. A successful candidate will be an energetic and positive-thinking individual who is able to function effectively in a dynamic cross-organizational team environment. The engineer will work with little or no supervision to perform requirements decomposition, define software architectures, and develop complex software components including design, code, test, and integration. This is a role for someone with a passion to work in a collaborative work environment covering the full engineering lifecycle.
This position is located in Richardson, Texas. A comprehensive relocation package is available to qualified applicants.
Capable to serve as a software architect to capture, analyze, decompose and translate requirements for software systems of moderate to high complexity.
Perform software design, code, test, and integration
Work efficiently in a cohesive team oriented environment
Communicate effectively with both customers and team members
Has significant knowledge of company, industry practices and standards and assists in identifying gaps in the organization's technical knowledge.
Capable of proactively identifying complicated and detailed technical topics, and helps direct the team to resolve them. Ensures these issues are elevated and communicated to project leadership.

Must have skills/experience:
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline
Must possess or be eligible for obtaining a U.S. DoD Secret Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
Multiple years of experience in Java and/or C++ Multiple years of experience in Network Integration (IP, TCP, UDP)
Experience working in an Agile development environment
Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving
Experience with network sniffing/analysis tools such as Wireshark
Experience with version control tools such GIT and SVN
Experience with overall software development lifecycle (SDLC)
Exceptional communication skills: Must be able to communicate technical issues, risks, and status in both written and oral form
Ability to travel up to 20% annually, domestic and international
Nice to have skills/experience:
Experience with DoD tactical datalinks such as Link 16, VMF, or AFAPD
Experience with Google Protocol Buffers
Experience integrating with Operating System drivers for USB
Experience testing and debugging issues with hardware-in-the-loop
Experience developing radio or terminal control interfaces for PRC-117G/F, PRC-152A, LVT-2
Experience with Airborne Link-16 terminals such as TTR and MIDS LVT
Familiarity with Atlassian Software Development and Collaboration tools such as JIRA, Confluence, JAMA, Bamboo
