As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Inspector IV in our Altis Aerospace function located in Savannah, GA.
Reporting to the Supervisor Quality Inspector, the Inspector IV will perform product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs.
Inspect parts, assemblies and finished products in accordance with contract specifications and/or legal requirements; follow company inspection guidelines to conduct critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies, and materials
Perform 3D inspections using Faro Arm (Cam 2, Geomagic) and /or CMM
Perform complex and critical inspection procedures, requiring special set-up of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources
Sample and test incoming components and raw materials; track results
Ensure raw materials in-process and finished products meet company standard
Apply approval or rejection labels to bulk, raw materials once analytical data is evaluated
Produce inspection reports as appropriate/requested
Minimize down time by reducing production rework and recalls
Provide work leadership to lower-level associates; acts as liaison between Quality Assurance department and all other departments
Associate’s Degree (A.A) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and six-years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
One year’s experience in Aerospace Quality Management System AS9100, performing First Article inspections in accordance with AS9102, GD&T in accordance with ASME Y 14.5, and/or equivalent military or regulated commercial products standards experience.
Ability to use Faro Arm to perform 3D Quality Inspections and CMM
Ability to perform 3D inspections using Faro Arm (Cam 2, Geomagic) and/or CMM
Ability to use typical equipment, such as micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, dial indicators, oscilloscopes, component testers and the like.
