As a leader in the aerospace industry, we are growing rapidly and have a number of exciting positions available right now, including a Buyer in our Machine Products Group, located in Westminster, CA. This division of B/E Aerospace specializes in high-quality, complex components, assemblies, kits, gears, precision and gearbox assemblies, and complex machined parts for commercial and military aerospace applications.

SUMMARY

Purchases merchandise, materials, components, equipment, and/or services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Purchases materials, parts, supplies, and equipment following established purchasing policies and procedures and optimizes price, delivery, and terms; typically purchases less than $3 million per year; does not become involved in the development of specifications and primarily buys off-the-shelf items.

  • Follows established procedures, practices and policies which are well-defined, standard and routine and require minimal interpretation or variation.

  • Confers with vendors/suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

  • Reviews purchase requisitions for proper authorization.

  • Investigates potential vendors/suppliers and recommends those most desirable; issues requests for quotations; examines bids; makes awards and places orders for standard/routine items.

  • Provides support in follow-up activities to expedite the delivery of goods and services.

  • May monitor storeroom stocks and initiate orders within established guidelines.

  • Assists in studies of market trends.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; and one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
