Come join our Post DPE (Sustaining) Engineering team in supporting Operations, Quality, and Customer Support for both Commercial and Government Head-Up Guidance Systems. Our team is part of design engineering, partnering with new product development to provide hands on engineering analysis and troubleshooting of avionics products for our in-house manufacturing team, making improvements, dealing with obsolescence through evaluation & redesign as necessary, and providing feedback to our product development teams.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer with a background in engineering change management and operations support who is passionate, enjoys working with a team of talented people, and is eager to take on challenges. Rockwell Collins is proud to be providing avionics products to major aircraft programs. As part of this team, you will be exposed to a variety of world class products, and have the ability to contribute significantly to the advancement & support of our award winning products around the globe!
Analyze and troubleshoot complex avionics electronic systems and printed circuit assemblies for Head-Up Guidance Systems, such as LCD display electronics and graphic display processing electronics
Analyze and redesign printed circuit assemblies for obsolescence and product improvement
Act as the engineering expert resource for manufacturing and service center to investigate and troubleshoot real time electronic assembly failures
Evaluate current production and customer returned circuit assemblies to identify failure trends, implement methods of preventing future failures, and communicate findings to improve next-generation designs
Recommend robust engineering solutions for design and manufacturing issues including product test, and coordinate implementation with production, program management and design engineering teams
Support NPI builds and represent sustaining engineering in the development of new designs
Support internal and external customers, potentially interfacing directly with external customers
Review metrics and hardware defects trends, identify systemic root causes and promote process improvements.
Recommend new approaches, tools and techniques that drive continuous improvement in hardware development and manufacturing processes
Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline (preferrably Electrical Engineering)
US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) required
Possess a high level of understanding of analog and digital circuit designs and is fluent in troubleshooting mixed signal systems
Strong technical, analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
Demonstrate high energy and optimism when working on all projects
