B/E Aerospace's Fairchild production facility is our Engineered Components business, which is a new business entity whose primary charter is the design, development, certification, and production of a proprietary seat actuation system for exclusive use on B/E seating products.
As a leader in the aerospace industry, we have a number of exciting positions available right now, including an Engineering Lab Technician (Temp) in our Engineered Components business located in Winston-Salem, NC.
The Engineering Lab Technician primary responsibility will be to set up and conduct testing on products and components.
Responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as test, checkout, modification/fabrication of test setups, and assembly of specialized test fixtures/setups.
Responsible for setting up instrumentation for control and data acquisition required to perform, monitor, and log these testing results as detailed in qualification test procedures while working hand in hand with Engineers.
Provide assistance in the repair and preventative maintenance of laboratory test equipment and will be working in an environment of continuous improvement and expected to participate and support these activities.
Performance of environmental tests (programming and operation of various test equipment and chambers) on electrical, electronic, mechanical and electromechanical devices in accordance with company qualification test procedures
Record results on provided data sheets requiring specific attention to accuracy and detail.
Works from schematics, diagrams, written, and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions
Disassembles instruments and equipment, using hand tools, and inspects components for defects.
Conducts engineering tests and detailed experimental testing to collect design data or assist in research work.
Performs operational test and fault isolation on systems and equipment.
Assists in determining methods or actions to remedy malfunctions.
Continues to develop mechanical skills under direct supervision while working on assigned projects.
- Associates Degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of formal education, on-the-job training, and/or work experience.
Experience in a highly regulated industry, especially aerospace.
Strong business acumen and knowledge of labor market conditions.
Experience working in large organizations with a geographically dispersed workforce.
Well organized with solid judgment; able to multitask and adjust to changing priorities.
Desire to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead projects to make improvements to processes, procedures, etc.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders including Senior Leadership.
Demonstrated ability to build credibility with, interact with, and influence suppliers, customers, and key stakeholders; Ability to build strong relationships.
