As a Senior Technician: Systems Administrator you will have a wide variety of challenging tasks and responsibilities. You will be a “leader-by-example” for the Junior Technicians and a go-to person for both technicians and customers in case of (complex) issues.
Your key task will be to maintain all core systems on a daily basis to ensure 100% availability of the entire CUTE software infrastructure at Brussels airport. This includes setting up monitoring systems and performing system configurations.
Additionally, you will be handling and investigating complex issues in cooperation with the Junior Technicians, analyzing problem reports and performing long term problem management to prevent issues from occurring again.
You will work in cooperation with development, vendors and third line support parties. Any system related requests and change requests from airlines and the airport will be managed by you.
You will also work closely with the site manager to improve site performance and operations and will be their back up in case of any absence during holidays.
->1 st and 2 nd line support on CUTE (common USE Terminal Equipment) systems and peripherals, as well as CUSS (common use self service)
->Maintaining and monitoring the server infrastructure on a daily basis
->Performing daily back-ups and data redundancy
->Handle Change requests and software updates
->Perform problem management on hardware issues
->Perform problem management on repeating software/application/host issues.
->Assist the Junior Technicians in resolving complex issues
->Repair, maintain and support PC’s, Peripherals and CUTE related hardware
->Delegate tasks to the Junior Technicians, coach them and make sure all tasks are performed correctly, accurately and according to Rockwell Collins standards.
->Provide training on new systems or components to the Junior Technicians.
->Act as Site Manager when needed in the interim.
->Extensive experience in maintaining Server infrastructure
->High level problem solving capabilities and mindset
->Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
->Experience with installation, maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting of Windows Workstations on Windows Server environments.
->Very good knowledge of Dutch and English (written and verbal)
->Perfect customer service management skills
->Ability to work autonomously and independently
